The supporters of Galaxtixs booed when Briel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Youri van Amersfoort didn't get a good kick on the ball. Werner Anker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaas Latten, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Klaas Latten to make the kick off. When Jacques van der Werff came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Briel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacques van der Werff couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Briel fully deserved thier win.
