The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ted van Basten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 5th minute, Remond van der Werff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Remond van der Werff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ted van Basten in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tim Reiling saved Weerseloo from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Weerseloo's goal looked a bit too open when Remond van der Werff came free, but Tim Reiling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ted Zoetebier in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brain Schaap saved FC Mansieboys from getting behind. Ted Zoetebier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brain Schaap having to interfere. In the 31stth minute of the game Arjen Schol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Mansieboys's Brain Schaap was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jan Kors who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Brain Schaap when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Jan Kors got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Remond van der Werff blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tim Reiling having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Zoetebier in the 44th minute of play forced FC Mansieboys's goalkeeper Brain Schaap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brain Schaap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ted Zoetebier, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Ted van Basten made the kick off in the second half. FC Mansieboys's Brain Schaap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Zoetebier in the 52nd minute of play. Remond van der Werff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Tim Reiling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted van Basten in the 60th minute of play forced Weerseloo's goalkeeper Tim Reiling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Mansieboys booed when Weerseloo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurens van Zonderen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brain Schaap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Kors, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Ted van Basten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Tim Reiling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Weerseloo's zone, Remond van der Werff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Reiling came out of the goal and Remond van der Werff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ted Zoetebier in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brain Schaap saved FC Mansieboys from getting behind. Remond van der Werff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Tim Reiling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, FC Mansieboys's Tim Reiling threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ted van Basten, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Ted van Basten came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the FC Mansieboys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted van Basten couldn't finish the play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
