After 3 minutes, Jan-Joost Zwart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baalder and the Overeys players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Overeys booed when Baalder was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Joost Zwart didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Baalder's Yorrick Hansma got a free kick in the 7th minute. Sven Baalman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Sven Baalman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baalder's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven Baalman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex Matthijs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Baalder booed when Overeys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Decheiver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Floris van Zalingen hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Sven Baalman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baalder's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Baalman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alex Matthijs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domenik Schenkhuizen in the 21st minute of play. Sven Baalmans short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Alex Matthijs to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Overeys's Alex Matthijs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Joost Zwart in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert van Someren in the 30th minute of play forced Baalder's goalkeeper Bob Veenker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Matthijs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven Baalman in the 35th minute. Sven Baalman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Overeys's goal looked a bit too open when Domenik Schenkhuizen came free, but Alex Matthijs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Pim Geitz put in a rough tackle. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Baalder! 57 minutes into the match, Baalder's goalkeeper Bob Veenker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gert van Someren. After a defensive mix-up in Overeys's zone, Sven Baalman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Matthijs came out of the goal and Sven Baalman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erwin Pool struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Alex Matthijs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baalder. After having played for 67 minutes, Sven Baalman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baalder's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven Baalman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sven Baalman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the game, Overeys's Raymond Wegman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bob Veenker made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Pierre Zwarthoet charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pierre Zwarthoet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th match minute, Baalder was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierre Zwarthoet to maneuver through the defense. Sven Baalman struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Alex Matthijs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baalder. Alex Matthijs stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sven Baalman's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Baalder's goalkeeper Bob Veenker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gert van Someren. Sven Baalman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Matthijs having to interfere. Alex Matthijs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Baalman, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Baalder lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
