After having played for 9 minutes, Ger Zwiers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Overschie HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ger Zwiers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 11 minutes, Maurits Hosson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spaarnwoude and the Overschie HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ger Zwiers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Hendrik Adams's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jim Wagemakers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Govert Hauvers in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jordy Knopper saved Spaarnwoude from getting behind. In the 26th match minute, Spaarnwoude was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilco Vledder to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Overschie HC's Huib Stuijvenberg got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 31 played minutes Overschie HC got a freekick which was hit by Meindert Mans. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Overschie HC's goalkeeper Jim Wagemakers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ger Zwiers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jordy Knopper was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Rein Popken charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 39th minute, Govert Hauvers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Overschie HC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Huib Stuijvenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordy Knopper took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ger Zwiers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

52 minutes into the game, Overschie HC's Ger Zwiers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jordy Knopper made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ger Zwiers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Jordy Knopper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Huib Stuijvenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Overschie HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Huib Stuijvenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jordy Knopper breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Govert Hauvers in the 66th minute of play forced Spaarnwoude's goalkeeper Jordy Knopper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Spaarnwoude's goal looked a bit too open when Ger Zwiers came free, but Jordy Knopper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jan Hendrik Adams's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jim Wagemakers was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Govert Hauvers in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jordy Knopper saved Spaarnwoude from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Govert Hauvers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jordy Knopper was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. 91 minutes into the match, Govert Hauvers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jordy Knopper, 1-3. Overschie HC played a much better game than Spaarnwoude and deserved their victory. The Spaarnwoude players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
