Spectators: 5788 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 60) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reinhard Zeldenrust started the match with the kick off. Erben Veldhuis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Jeffrey Staal made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinhard Zeldenrust in the 9th minute of play forced Fortuna Sittard's goalkeeper Florian van Galen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Vaalman hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Fortuna Sittard's John Klasen got a free kick in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dirk-Jan Bense in the 18th minute of play forced Fortuna Sittard's goalkeeper Florian van Galen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th match minute, Holy Owls FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinhard Zeldenrust to maneuver through the defense. Erben Veldhuis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jeffrey Staal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Reinhard Zeldenrust had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gio Thole fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Staal having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Rudolf Veldman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fortuna Sittard's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudolf Veldman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeffrey Staal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gio Thole fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Staal having to interfere. Fortuna Sittard's Florian van Galen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinhard Zeldenrust in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erben Veldhuis to strike the kick off in the second half. Florian van Galen came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Holy Owls FC's Reinhard Zeldenrust. But to his dismay, Reinhard Zeldenrust quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Raymond den Engelsman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael van der Aa kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 66 played minutes Holy Owls FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Vaalman. Jeffrey Staal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raymond den Engelsman in the 75th minute of the match. Erben Veldhuis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dirk-Jan Bense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fortuna Sittard's Florian van Galen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinhard Zeldenrust in the 79th minute of play. Erben Veldhuis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Staal having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Fortuna Sittard's goalkeeper Florian van Galen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dirk-Jan Bense. In the 88th minute, Rudolf Veldman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Florian van Galen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Vaalman in the 97th minute of play.
