Spectators: 7374 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gerard Kuypers made the kick off which started today's match. Erben Veldhuis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rudolf Veldman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Auke Schenkhuizen having to interfere. If Erben Veldhuis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florian van Galen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Kuypers in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Rudolf Veldman notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of RKTVC's Auke Schenkhuizen. Auke Schenkhuizen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maurice Meerdink fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Auke Schenkhuizen having to interfere. Auke Schenkhuizen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gio Thole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Willem Planting hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Fortuna Sittard's goal looked a bit too open when Hendrik-Jan Ravenbergen came free, but Florian van Galen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gio Thole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerard Kuypers was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. RKTVC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 35th minute Gio Thole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Auke Schenkhuizen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Maurice Meerdink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, RKTVC's goal looked a bit too open when Rudolf Veldman came free, but Auke Schenkhuizen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. RKTVC's Gerard Kuypers got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The RKTVC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fortuna Sittard were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Erben Veldhuis made the kick off in the second half. Rudolf Veldman hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the RKTVC defense, Erben Veldhuis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Auke Schenkhuizen. The RKTVC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Auke Schenkhuizen should have stopped the shot. Auke Schenkhuizen made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Erben Veldhuis sent off a good shot on target. If Gio Thole had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Izaak Schaars hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florian van Galen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerard Kuypers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Auke Schenkhuizen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudolf Veldman in the 92nd minute of play. Gio Thole received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Auke Schenkhuizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Fernando Hulshof shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian van Galen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 played minutes Fortuna Sittard got a freekick which was hit by Raymond den Engelsman. When the final whistle sounded Fortuna Sittard left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than RKTVC.
