The supporters of Augsbuur Excelsior booed when Vaardeburen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fokke Zuidam didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Augsbuur Excelsior getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Dimitrie Wijker hit a great ball. Riemer Zoethout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Rudolf Valk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erben Fellinger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dimitrie Wijker in the 7th minute. After some careless play in the Augsbuur Excelsior defense, Riemer Zoethout kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rudolf Valk. The Augsbuur Excelsior fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rudolf Valk should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pieter Groten in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rudolf Valk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 24 minutes into the match, Augsbuur Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Winters came free, but Rudolf Valk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rudolf Valk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter Groten in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fokke Zuidam in the 32nd minute of play forced Augsbuur Excelsior's goalkeeper Rudolf Valk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Vaardeburen's Erben Fellinger got control of the ball when Dimitrie Wijker tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Pieter Groten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vaardeburen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pieter Groten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pieter Groten in the 38th minute of play forced Augsbuur Excelsior's goalkeeper Rudolf Valk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pieter Groten in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rudolf Valk saved Augsbuur Excelsior from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fokke Zuidam in the 43rd minute of play forced Augsbuur Excelsior's goalkeeper Rudolf Valk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Pieter Groten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vaardeburen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Fokke Zuidam took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rudolf Valk. Rudolf Valk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Fokke Zuidam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Rudolf Valk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robbie Witters during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Augsbuur Excelsior's Robbie Witters got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Augsbuur Excelsior's goalkeeper Rudolf Valk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Bennie Kiewiet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Augsbuur Excelsior's supporters rose to their feet, but Bennie Kiewiet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erben Fellinger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pieter Groten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augsbuur Excelsior's Rudolf Valk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Riemer Zoethout in the 65th minute of play. Humberto Winters struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Rudolf Valk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vaardeburen. 69 minutes into the game, Augsbuur Excelsior's Dimitrie Wijker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erben Fellinger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Humberto Winters scored 1-6 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rudolf Valk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Humberto Winterss short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Rudolf Valk to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Augsbuur Excelsior's Daniel Harms got a free kick in the 82nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 84th minute by Fokke Zuidam got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Rob Sturm took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rudolf Valk. Rudolf Valk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. Fokke Zuidam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Rudolf Valk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Augsbuur Excelsior fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vaardeburen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
