Andy Lubbers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 15th match minute, Bus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Kuis to maneuver through the defense. Stephan de Haan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Aad de Nooijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Wapse's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan de Haan came free, but Andy Lubbers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stephan de Haan in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andy Lubbers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 32 minutes into the game, Aad de Nooijer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Andy Lubbers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Stephan de Haan came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Bus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stephan de Haan couldn't finish the play. 1-3 became the score in the 45th minute when Sjoerd Doren elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stephan de Haan was the one to do the kick off. Wapse's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Stephan de Haan 52 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-4. Andy Lubbers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephan de Haan in the 82nd minute of the match. Bus's Aad de Nooijer got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stephan de Haan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aad de Nooijer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Andy Lubbers when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
