The audience was convinced that Meindert de Wolf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rik Hekman was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Rik Hekman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meindert de Wolf in the 23rd minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ben Wittendorp made a kick off. If Maurits Sandstra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. Rik Hekman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucjan Brudzisz, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Rik Hekman came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Zevenbergsche Boys's Lucjan Brudzisz. But to his dismay, Lucjan Brudzisz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. Zevenbergsche Boys's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
