The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the NEUSHOORN CITY defense, Martien Kielstra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leendert Schenkhuizen. The NEUSHOORN CITY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leendert Schenkhuizen should have stopped the shot. In the 6thth minute of the game Martien Kielstra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NEUSHOORN CITY's Leendert Schenkhuizen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Noorddijk SC's Kelvin Luijpers got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leendert Schenkhuizen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Wagemakers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Noorddijk SC's Martien Kielstra in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye NEUSHOORN CITY's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Twan Kruijs got free with Preben Skavin in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Preben Skavin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Lammens in the 19th minute of the match. When Noorddijk SC's Martien Kielstra in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye NEUSHOORN CITY's goalie prevented a goal. Leendert Schenkhuizen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martien Kielstra's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. If Steven Wagemakers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 played minutes NEUSHOORN CITY got a freekick which was hit by Eelco Reiling. Daniel Kisielka was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Noorddijk SC's Steven Wagemakers got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Noorddijk SC's Martien Kielstra in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye NEUSHOORN CITY's goalie prevented a goal. Steven Wagemakers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Martien Kielstra made the kick off in the second half. Martien Kielstra's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Leendert Schenkhuizen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Steven Wagemakers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Preben Skavin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Twan Kruijs in the 61st minute of play. Raymond Otten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 63rd match minute, NEUSHOORN CITY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henk van Rijswijk to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, NEUSHOORN CITY's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Wagemakers came free, but Leendert Schenkhuizen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noorddijk SC's Preben Skavin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Twan Kruijs in the 65th minute of play. Steven Wagemakers struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Leendert Schenkhuizen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Noorddijk SC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinhard van der Weerden in the 73rd minute of play forced NEUSHOORN CITY's goalkeeper Leendert Schenkhuizen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, NEUSHOORN CITY's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Martien Kielstra fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed Pietersma in the 85th minute of play forced NEUSHOORN CITY's goalkeeper Leendert Schenkhuizen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ed Pietersma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Leendert Schenkhuizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leendert Schenkhuizen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinhard van der Weerden, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. If Ed Pietersma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noorddijk SC's Raymond Otten suffered a sore foot after 96 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Henk van Rijswijk's late challenge caught a Noorddijk SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henk van Rijswijk helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to NEUSHOORN CITY getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Henk van Rijswijk hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed Pietersma in the 98th minute of play forced NEUSHOORN CITY's goalkeeper Leendert Schenkhuizen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Noorddijk SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
