Christijan Platvoet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Grijp's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Christijan Platvoet was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Victor Grijp showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 31 minute of play. Victor Grijp showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niek Kuys stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Sari Kanarya getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Geert Heuving hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the game, Brucht Excelsior's Victor Grijp nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christijan Platvoet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Cor Wander hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Grijp in the 78th minute of play forced Sari Kanarya's goalkeeper Christijan Platvoet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sari Kanarya's Christijan Platvoet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Grijp in the 79th minute of play. Christijan Platvoet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Grijp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Gregor Degens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christijan Platvoet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cor Wander fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sari Kanarya's protests and gave Cor Wander a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Brucht Excelsior booed when Sari Kanarya was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cor Wander didn't get a good kick on the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Sari Kanarya's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Grijp came free, but Christijan Platvoet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gregor Degens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sari Kanarya's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
