The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tjeerd Schildkamp got free with Arne van Baarle in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Elco van den Eede took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Theo Lyesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Emiel Klaasens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arne van Baarle was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Arne van Baarle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tjeerd Schildkamp in the 8th minute of play. Zwartendijk Eendracht's attentive Gido Langenbach managed to snatch the ball when Henny Windmuller made a throw-in in the 14th minute of the game. 15 minutes into the match, Vv schipluiden's goal looked a bit too open when Theo Lyesen came free, but Elco van den Eede reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Theo Lyesen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elco van den Eede was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Tjeerd Schildkamp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Arne van Baarle made a huge save. Arne van Baarle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronald van Dam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zwartendijk Eendracht's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 51st match minute, Zwartendijk Eendracht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theo Lyesen to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st match minute, Zwartendijk Eendracht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gido Langenbach to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute Theo Zoetebier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne van Baarle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Theo Zoetebier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arne van Baarle. Zwartendijk Eendracht's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Theo Zoetebier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Zwartendijk Eendracht's Arne van Baarle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiel Klaasens in the 71st minute of play. After 72 minutes, Ronald van Dam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vv schipluiden and the Zwartendijk Eendracht players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ronald van Dam hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Theo Zoetebier hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vv schipluiden's goalkeeper Elco van den Eede, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gido Langenbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 minutes, Theo Lyesen made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Vv schipluiden's Elco van den Eede tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Vv schipluiden booed when Zwartendijk Eendracht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Timmerman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st match minute, Zwartendijk Eendracht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Timmerman to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Tjeerd Schildkamp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Vv schipluiden's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
