Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Coenraad Nibbelke got the match started through his kick off. Mario Pragt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Bas having to interfere. Chiel Veenhuis scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mark Bas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Serge Hofkamp fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Raalte's protests and gave Serge Hofkamp a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Raalte getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Serge Hofkamp hit a great ball. Merlenberg's Arie Wagenaar couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 21st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Raalte. Roderick Weinands sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Coenraad Nibbelke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ernest Borg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Coenraad Nibbelke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Werner Remmelts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Mario Pragt put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Mark Bas. In the 39th minute of the match Marcel Oosterhof shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mark Bas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 47th minute, John Koopmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute of the match Marcel Oosterhof sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mark Bas skillfully saved the ball. After the first half Raalte were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chiel Veenhuis was the one to do the kick off. Merlenberg's Mark Bas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Merlenberg from getting a goal against them. Chiel Veenhuis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Werner Remmelts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Borg having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Chiel Veenhuis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mark Bas. The goal made the score 0-3. Ernest Borg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Werner Remmelts in the 76th minute of the match. Mario Pragt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chiel Veenhuis in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mark Bas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 81 played minutes Merlenberg got a freekick which was hit by Thijs Hollander. Mark Bas made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Mario Pragt sent off a good shot on target. Ernest Borg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Coenraad Nibbelke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mario Pragt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Bas having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Raalte eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
