After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Roman Kolacki managed to get in a good position for a shot. VV Roden's supporters rose to their feet, but Roman Kolacki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Mulders breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 6 minutes into the game, Jean-Paul Owusu Abeyie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. sc.Theeheuvel 06's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VV Roden the free kick. The supporters of VV Roden booed when sc.Theeheuvel 06 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Paul Owusu Abeyie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th match minute, sc.Theeheuvel 06 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Paul Owusu Abeyie to maneuver through the defense. Peter Mulders took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Kolacki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Wilco Pragt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Mulders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Stephan Hertog fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Roeland Meijeringh, passed just outside the right post. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind sc.Theeheuvel 06's goalkeeper Peter Mulders, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peter Mulders made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilco Pragt in the 22nd minute of play. Roeland Meijeringh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karsten Akkerman in the 23rd minute. After some careless play in the sc.Theeheuvel 06 defense, Roman Kolacki kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Mulders. The sc.Theeheuvel 06 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Mulders should have stopped the shot. After having played for 29 minutes, Koen van Boxel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VV Roden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Koen van Boxel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Mulders showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordi Davids in the 31st minute of the match. Roman Kolacki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Peter Mulders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, sc.Theeheuvel 06's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Kolacki came free, but Peter Mulders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oskar Lydicksen during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Oskar Lydicksen hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roman Kolacki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, VV Roden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henk Kuipers to maneuver through the defense. Roeland Meijeringh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Anneese, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Koen van Boxel came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Peter Mulders could save by the left post. Sven Anneese took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roeland Meijeringh. Roeland Meijeringh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Wilco Pragt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roman Kolacki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Wilco Pragt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Peter Mulders. Wilco Pragt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. If Roman Kolacki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Roman Kolacki came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the VV Roden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Kolacki couldn't finish the play. The supporters of sc.Theeheuvel 06 booed when VV Roden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henk Kuipers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roman Kolacki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roman Kolacki struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Peter Mulders didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VV Roden. Peter Mulders made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roman Kolacki in the 87th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Kolacki got free with Peter Mulders in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute VV Roden were awarded a corner. Jordi Davids went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led VV Roden's Roman Kolacki to fire away a dangerous shot which Peter Mulders despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. VV Roden's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
