The referee ignored SCN Nieuwlande's protests and gave Wouter Sloedingen a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of LECH DOZNAŃ booed when SCN Nieuwlande was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wouter Sloedingen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niels-Jan Kruit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Roeters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Medgyesi's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Freek Rinzema - 1-0 was put on the score board in the 14th minute. Harmen van Zomeren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Wouter Sloedingen came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the SCN Nieuwlande fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wouter Sloedingen couldn't finish the play. Geert van Olst charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geert van Olst the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to LECH DOZNAŃ getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Geert van Olst hit a great ball. Rick Roeters kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Senne Van Hoyvelt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Freek Rinzema read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Bob Grol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Harmen van Zomeren made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Maikel Lammers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute, Senne Van Hoyvelt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Freek Rinzema was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Bob Grol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Freek Rinzema read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Harmen van Zomeren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SCN Nieuwlande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harmen van Zomeren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serge van Dinteren hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Rick Roeters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niels-Jan Kruit having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Harmen van Zomeren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SCN Nieuwlande's zone, Matthijs de Visser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niels-Jan Kruit came out of the goal and Matthijs de Visser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niels-Jan Kruit made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Rick Roeters sent off a good shot on target. Harmen van Zomeren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Freek Rinzema tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, LECH DOZNAŃ's Geert van Olst got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Serge van Dinteren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LECH DOZNAŃ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SCN Nieuwlande the free kick. After 82 played minutes LECH DOZNAŃ got a freekick which was hit by Serge van Dinteren. If Senne Van Hoyvelt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in LECH DOZNAŃ's zone, Harmen van Zomeren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freek Rinzema came out of the goal and Harmen van Zomeren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SCN Nieuwlande fully deserved thier win.
