Jurre Alards started the match with the kick off. Twan de Zaaijer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alwin Hof struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Hendrik Gronden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nieuwesluis Eendracht. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joop Spijkerman during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Nieuwesluis Eendracht's Joop Spijkerman got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jurre Alards in the 16th minute of play forced Nieuwesluis Eendracht's goalkeeper Boudewijn Hofland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Alwin Hof took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Hendrik Gronden to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Nieuwesluis Eendracht booed when Battenoord S.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arjan Asselbergs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alwin Hof struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Hendrik Gronden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nieuwesluis Eendracht. Boudewijn Hofland came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Battenoord S.V.'s Jurre Alards. But to his dismay, Jurre Alards quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Patrick Erenstein fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nieuwesluis Eendracht's protests and gave Patrick Erenstein a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Nieuwesluis Eendracht got a freekick which was hit by Joop Spijkerman. Battenoord S.V. were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Nieuwesluis Eendracht's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emile van der Leegte took the corner. 43 minutes into the game, Joop Spijkerman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hendrik Gronden. Joop Spijkerman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alwin Hof to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56thth minute of the game Twan de Zaaijer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Battenoord S.V.'s Hendrik Gronden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nieuwesluis Eendracht's Boudewijn Hofland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurre Alards in the 68th minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Olof Karremans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Battenoord S.V.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nieuwesluis Eendracht the free kick. In the 83rd minute, Olof Karremans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaas Jan Kun, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience was convinced that Alwin Hof's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hendrik Gronden was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. The supporters of Nieuwesluis Eendracht booed when Battenoord S.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arjan Asselbergs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alwin Hof sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sjors van Assen got free with Boudewijn Hofland in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alwin Hof in the 97th minute of play forced Battenoord S.V.'s goalkeeper Hendrik Gronden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 99th minute Alwin Hof shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik Gronden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Nieuwesluis Eendracht were the better team. Nieuwesluis Eendracht's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
