Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jan-Willem de Witte made the kick off and thus started the match. Thomas Hoogendorp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcel Sparnaaij, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 8 played minutes Castenray FC got a freekick which was hit by Dries Weken. Jan-Willem de Witte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Arno Idelberger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Castenray FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnout Holten to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Leerdam's zone, Herbert Kuys stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Hoogendorp came out of the goal and Herbert Kuys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Herbert Kuys ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Hoogendorp was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Thomas Hoogendorp made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Herbert Kuys sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute, Lex Sterenberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arno Idelberger was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 33 minutes, Herbert Kuys made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Leerdam's Thomas Hoogendorp tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcel Sparnaaij sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Herbert Kuys made a precise shot to the right of Thomas Hoogendorp. Leerdam's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcel Sparnaaij to strike the kick off in the second half. Rik Valk charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rik Valk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rik Valk hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Arno Idelberger was a little too slow when Lex Sterenberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 4-2. In the 58th minute, Herbert Kuys left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Castenray FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Marcel Sparnaaij received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Thomas Hoogendorp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 65 minutes, Marcel Sparnaaij managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castenray FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcel Sparnaaij was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute, Marcel Sparnaaij got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leerdam's Thomas Hoogendorp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Kuys in the 72nd minute of play. Douwe Hilkes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thomas Hoogendorp having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcel Sparnaaij in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Hoogendorp saved Leerdam from getting behind. 82 minutes into the match, Castenray FC's goalkeeper Arno Idelberger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gijs Blikman. Castenray FC's Marcel Sparnaaij got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcel Sparnaaij sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thomas Hoogendorp didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jurre Post went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-2 was the resulting score. Marcel Sparnaaij's late challenge caught a Leerdam's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcel Sparnaaij helped the player get up and apologised. Marcel Sparnaaij kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. A hard shot 96 in the game by Gijs Blikman from a close distance when the talented Arno Idelberger managed to make a qualified save. Castenray FC's players were relieved. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Castenray FC had played much better football throughout.
