Jacco Klerk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederik Scheffer having to interfere. Jacco Klerk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 21 minutes into the game, Jean-Paul Hofkamp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C Montrex's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IJmuiden the free kick. A collision led to F.C Montrex getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jean-Paul Hofkamp hit a great ball. Jacco Klerk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute of the match Twan Venema shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frederik Scheffer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When IJmuiden's Bennie Visscher in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roland Westra was the one to do the kick off. In the 94th match minute, F.C Montrex was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Hertog to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacco Klerk in the 98th minute of play forced F.C Montrex's goalkeeper Frederik Scheffer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The F.C Montrex fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. IJmuiden were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
