Ryan Cardinaal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Bernard, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, FC Vlaardingen's Martijn Waard ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ger Wansink. Ger Wansink yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Zuuk SV's goalkeeper Ger Wansink, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Zuuk SV's goalkeeper Ger Wansink had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harry Windmuller. Arno Smeekes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ger Wansink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arno Smeekes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Martijn Waard's late challenge caught a Zuuk SV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martijn Waard helped the player get up and apologised. Martijn Waard hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, FC Vlaardingen's goal looked a bit too open when Rudi Owusu Abeyie came free, but Ryan Cardinaal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Zuuk SV getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Robert Bernard hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the match, Zuuk SV's goal looked a bit too open when Martijn Waard came free, but Ger Wansink reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harry Windmullers short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Ger Wansink to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 40th play minute Arno Smeekes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ger Wansink. 3-0. Ger Wansink showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Windmuller in the 43rd minute of the match. Robert Schepers was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 45 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the game, one of FC Vlaardingen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Zuuk SV. Roland Friebel stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ryan Cardinaal. 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

In the 56th minute, Yorrick Davids got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Zuuk SV getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Roland Friebel hit a great ball. Martijn Waard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martijn Waard in the 78th minute of play forced Zuuk SV's goalkeeper Ger Wansink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Vlaardingen's Martijn Waard got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
