Ger Wansink showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Kort, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mariaheide VV's zone, Robert Bernard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arie van Zwieten came out of the goal and Robert Bernard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Robert Bernard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arie van Zwieten having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Koen Klompe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ger Wansink was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Gert Kort received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ger Wansink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ger Wansink took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert Kort, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Bernard got free with Arie van Zwieten in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humberto Boezeman's late challenge caught a Zuuk SV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Boezeman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th match minute, Mariaheide VV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Boezeman to maneuver through the defense. Zuuk SV's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
