Koos van Zwieten hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After 8 minutes, Olof Cohen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Domburg HC and the Hoeves players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes Domburg HC got a freekick which was hit by Olof Cohen. Rob Collen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olof Cohen in the 12th minute of the match. Rob Collen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marnix Castelen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 18 minutes of play, Domburg HC's Rinus Davids made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rob Collen was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Hoeves defense, Rinus Davids kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rob Collen. The Hoeves fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rob Collen should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Koos van Zwieten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rob Collen. Hoeves's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Koos van Zwieten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Folkert Janus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Verbeek having to interfere. Folkert Janus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Theo Verbeek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rob Collen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rinus Davids, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Olof Cohen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rob Collen having to interfere. The supporters of Domburg HC booed when Hoeves was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Cremers didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Folkert Janus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Marnix Castelen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rob Collen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rinus Davids recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Hoeves's zone, Rinus Davids stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rob Collen came out of the goal and Rinus Davids tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olof Cohen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rob Collen having to interfere. Hoeves's Rob Collen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Hoeves from getting a goal against them. 69 minutes into the match, Hoeves's goalkeeper Rob Collen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Koos van Zwieten. Rinus Davids in the 71stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rob Collen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 73rd minute of the match, Rinus Davids tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rob Collen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rob Collen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rinus Davids in the 74th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rinus Davids in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rob Collen saved Hoeves from getting behind. The supporters of Domburg HC booed when Hoeves was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gooitzen Scheerhoorn didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Olof Cohen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Domburg HC's Marnix Castelen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rob Collen. Rob Collen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. Folkert Janus's late challenge caught a Domburg HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Folkert Janus helped the player get up and apologised. Domburg HC's Adriaan van Galen was substituted for Rinus Jongsma. A collision led to Hoeves getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Folkert Janus hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hoeves's zone, Olof Cohen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rob Collen came out of the goal and Olof Cohen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rob Collen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marnix Castelen in the 94th minute of play.
