When Coos Kaptein fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ado den haag's protests and gave Coos Kaptein a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, ado den haag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Coos Kaptein to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dennis Schuurmans during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to ado den haag getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Dennis Schuurmans hit a great ball. Liefkenshoek V.V.'s Mart Dissels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjors Meppelink in the 22nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pim Lindeman in the 25th minute of play forced ado den haag's goalkeeper Jhon Franssen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liefkenshoek V.V.'s goalkeeper Mart Dissels, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th match minute, Liefkenshoek V.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Kok to maneuver through the defense. Dimitrie Stuijvenberg's late challenge caught a ado den haag's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Coos Kaptein came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the ado den haag fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Coos Kaptein couldn't finish the play. Christiaan Saenen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pim Lindeman in the 45th minute of play forced ado den haag's goalkeeper Jhon Franssen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jhon Franssen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pim Lindeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Christiaan Saenen made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Christiaan Saenen managed to get in a good position for a shot. ado den haag's supporters rose to their feet, but Christiaan Saenen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiel Bekker got free with Mart Dissels in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Liefkenshoek V.V. booed when ado den haag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Coos Kaptein didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, ado den haag's Mart Dissels threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Christiaan Saenen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jhon Franssen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Boschker in the 73rd minute of play. Liefkenshoek V.V.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Christiaan Saenen scored to the left of an out of position Mart Dissels, making the score, 0-2. Liefkenshoek V.V.'s Mart Dissels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Liefkenshoek V.V. from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute, Coos Kaptein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jhon Franssen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Boschker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to ado den haag getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Coos Kaptein hit a great ball. Christiaan Saenen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute.
