The supporters of Matthian FC booed when Oostkapelle FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Wielens didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes in the game, Lex Roelofsen dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After 45 minutes, Remco Reintjes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matthian FC and the Oostkapelle FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 45 played minutes Matthian FC got a freekick which was hit by Remco Reintjes. Lex Roelofsen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Maarten van der Wiel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute, Lex Roelofsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Oostkapelle FC's zone, Lex Roelofsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maarten van der Wiel came out of the goal and Lex Roelofsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute, Jochem Brugmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Menno Veldhuis, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 90th minute, Lex Roelofsen made a precise shot to the right of Maarten van der Wiel. Oostkapelle FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 97th minute Stijn Pool shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harm Hoezen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
