Elroy Ponk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Pieterzijl HC booed when vv akkrum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erwin Eylens didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, vv akkrum's goal looked a bit too open when Franck Daelemans came free, but Reinhard Meulenbergh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Erwin Eylens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pieterzijl HC's Elroy Ponk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Dijkman in the 21st minute of play. vv akkrum's Fabian Dijkman got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pieterzijl HC's Elroy Ponk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwin Eylens in the 24th minute of play. Jurgen Haken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 27th minute Fabian Dijkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elroy Ponk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elroy Ponk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jurgen Haken, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. A collision led to Pieterzijl HC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Coenraad Vennegoor hit a great ball. Jurgen Haken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elroy Ponk having to interfere. Erwin Eylens took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elroy Ponk. Elroy Ponk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half vv akkrum were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabian Dijkman to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of vv akkrum booed when Pieterzijl HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Bense didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Fabian Dijkman put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Elroy Ponk. After a rather tough play, vv akkrum's Joeri Wagenaar got a free kick in the 65th minute. Jurgen Haken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pieterzijl HC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Erwin Eylens scored to the left of an out of position Elroy Ponk, making the score, 0-3. Elroy Ponk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erwin Eylens in the 92nd minute of the match. Erwin Eylens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded vv akkrum left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pieterzijl HC.
