After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Jurgen Haken managed to get in a good position for a shot. vv akkrum's supporters rose to their feet, but Jurgen Haken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elroy Ponk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erwin Eylens struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Elroy Ponk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for vv akkrum. In the 24th minute, Fabian Dijkman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elroy Ponk was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 27th match minute, Pieterzijl HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Uebels to maneuver through the defense. Fabian Dijkman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elroy Ponk having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Pieterzijl HC's goalkeeper Elroy Ponk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jurgen Haken. When Fabian Dijkman got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for vv akkrum. 35 minutes into the game, Marcel Uebels cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Reinhard Meulenbergh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 38 minutes, Hubert Westerhof mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pieterzijl HC and the vv akkrum players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Hubert Westerhof hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Pieterzijl HC's zone, Fabian Dijkman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elroy Ponk came out of the goal and Fabian Dijkman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcel Uebels to make the kick off. If Fabian Dijkman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elroy Ponk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurgen Haken in the 64th minute of play. A collision led to vv akkrum getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Fabian Dijkman hit a great ball. Hubert Westerhof kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Pieterzijl HC's zone, Erwin Eylens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elroy Ponk came out of the goal and Erwin Eylens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the match, Pieterzijl HC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Dijkman came free, but Elroy Ponk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franck Daelemans was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Pieterzijl HC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 81 minutes into the game, Jurgen Haken cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Elroy Ponk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 84 minutes into the match, Fabian Dijkman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elroy Ponk. Pieterzijl HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabian Dijkman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Elroy Ponk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Dijkman in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of Pieterzijl HC booed when vv akkrum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Maseland didn't get a good kick on the ball.
