Martien Redan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard de Zaaijer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the match, Bruchem's Richard de Zaaijer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martien Redan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Philip de Boer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Martien Redan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gio Zwinkels's late challenge caught a Bruchem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Philip de Boer came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Bruchem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philip de Boer couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gert Jan van Westerop was the one to do the kick off. The Legends's Martien Redan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save The Legends from getting a goal against them. A very good chance. The supporters of The Legends booed when Bruchem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Post didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruchem's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard de Zaaijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martien Redan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 83rd match minute, The Legends was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gio Zwinkels to maneuver through the defense. Richard de Zaaijer's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Martien Redan firmly grabbed it by the left post. Richard de Zaaijer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martien Redan having to make a save. If Richard de Zaaijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard de Zaaijer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard de Zaaijer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martien Redan having to interfere. Bruchem were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
