If Ferdi Olfers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st match minute, Jorwerd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Oosterveld to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Rogier van der Tol kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sven Pilage. That made the score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Jorwerd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert van Heiningen to maneuver through the defense. Floris Roelofsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Pilage having to interfere. With a little luck, Jorwerd's Sven Pilage got control of the ball when Floris Roelofsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, sparta rotterdam's goal looked a bit too open when Joost Opdam came free, but Joep Haar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Floris Roelofsen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sven Pilage stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogier van der Tol's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 40th minute of the match Ruben Dekens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joep Haar skillfully saved the ball. Ferdi Olfers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joep Haar came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Jorwerd's Joost Opdam. But to his dismay, Joost Opdam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 48th minute of the match Ruben Dekens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joep Haar skillfully saved the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

sparta rotterdam's Joep Haar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save sparta rotterdam from getting a goal against them. Joost Opdam might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joep Haar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joost Opdam ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Floris Roelofsen managed to get in a good position for a shot. sparta rotterdam's supporters rose to their feet, but Floris Roelofsen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven Pilage breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Roland Remmelts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 68 minutes, Joost Opdam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jorwerd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joost Opdam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benjamin Oosterveld hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Ferdi Olfers struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Joep Haar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jorwerd. Floris Roelofsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Sven Pilage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joost Opdam received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joep Haar came out and tried to block the shot, but Joost Opdam slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 85th minute. After having played for 89 minutes, Ferdi Olfers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jorwerd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdi Olfers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdi Olfers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joep Haar having to interfere. Rogier van der Tol got in the 95th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Sven Pilage handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar.
