Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Boukjan Bronkhorst started the match with the kick off. Roland Remmelts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Alkema having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Henry Saveneij ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven Pilage was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Henry Saveneij came free with the goalkeeper in the 9th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sven Pilage could save by the left post. 11 minutes into the game, Jorwerd's Herbert van Heiningen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivo Alkema made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. A hard shot by Gerrit Kemper from long distance, 17 minutes into the match, got Sven Pilage's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Henry Saveneijs short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Sven Pilage to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of Jorwerd booed when Delft was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeroen van Zwieten didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivo Alkema took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdi Olfers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 minutes, Roland Remmelts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jorwerd and the Delft players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Jorwerd getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Roland Remmelts hit a great ball. Boukjan Bronkhorst struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Sven Pilage didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Delft. In the 33rd minute Boukjan Bronkhorst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Pilage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Delft's Robert Koeling got a free kick in the 39th minute. Joost Opdam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joost Opdam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Jorwerd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Nijemanting to maneuver through the defense. In the 54thth minute of the game Boukjan Bronkhorst who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jorwerd's Sven Pilage was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jorwerd's Roland Remmelts got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Roland Remmelts off the ground. Roland Remmelts kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Sven Pilage took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Saveneij, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the game, Jan Rein Neeskens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Delft's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jorwerd the free kick. Ferdi Olfers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Ivo Alkema made a huge save. If Boukjan Bronkhorst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Henry Saveneij left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Delft fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Ferdi Olfers in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ivo Alkema, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 82 minutes into the match, Ferdi Olfers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivo Alkema. Delft's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferdi Olfers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Henry Saveneij struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Sven Pilage didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Delft. In the 87th match minute, Jorwerd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Dekens to maneuver through the defense. Sven Pilage stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henry Saveneij's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Ruben Dekens charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruben Dekens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jorwerd! The referee gave Delft a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jeroen van Zwieten, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Jorwerd's Sven Pilage. 3-2. In the 97th minute Boukjan Bronkhorst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Pilage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Delft could leave the field as winners, despite Jorwerd having more of the ball for most of the match.
