Spectators: 7763 (Terracing: 5875, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 56) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jacob Ponk kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the match, Adeward's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Bulder came free, but Ab Hilberts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roeland Stuijvenberg's late challenge caught a GYM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roeland Stuijvenberg helped the player get up and apologised. Roeland Stuijvenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. The supporters of GYM booed when Adeward was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdi Meertens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricky Bulder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ab Hilberts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. If Stefan Baalen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ralph Robbermond in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ab Hilberts saved Adeward from getting behind. Ab Hilberts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk-Jan Temen in the 22nd minute of play. Giovanni Schaars received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ab Hilberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ab Hilberts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dirk-Jan Temen in the 27th minute of the match. The corner led GYM's Dirk-Jan Temen to fire away a dangerous shot which Ab Hilberts despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Stefan Baalen lost his temper 32 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 32 played minutes GYM got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Baalen. After having played for 33 minutes, Melvin Dijkman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Adeward's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melvin Dijkman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ralph Robbermond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ab Hilberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ralph Robbermond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ab Hilberts having to interfere. Ruud Colen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdi Meertens in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ricky Bulder managed to get in a good position for a shot. GYM's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricky Bulder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ab Hilberts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robin van der Aa during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Adeward booed when GYM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robin van der Aa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roeland Stuijvenberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ruud Colen. GYM's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, GYM's Ricky Bulder got a free kick in the 45th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giovanni Schaars to make the kick off. Ab Hilberts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricky Bulder, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Bjorn Ritsma hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute, Dirk-Jan Temen sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Adeward's Ab Hilberts didn't even have to move. Ruud Colen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roeland Stuijvenberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. GYM's Ruud Colen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roeland Stuijvenberg in the 62nd minute of play. After 66 played minutes GYM got a freekick which was hit by Robin van der Aa. After some careless play in the GYM defense, Ferdi Meertens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruud Colen. The GYM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruud Colen should have stopped the shot. GYM's Ruud Colen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdi Meertens in the 77th minute of play. If Giovanni Schaars had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Ricky Bulder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Adeward booed when GYM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricky Ruiter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Ferdi Meertens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruud Colen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdi Meertens scored 0-2 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruud Colen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see GYM lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
