After 16 minutes of play vv Hefswal's Carel Tigelaar was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Charis Chatzis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute, Florian Roodenburg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Charis Chatzis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The PSV players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. vv Hefswal were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bas Venema made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaas Smit in the 51st minute of play forced PSV's goalkeeper Charis Chatzis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charis Chatzis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to PSV getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Dimitrie Valk hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in PSV's zone, Ger Fens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charis Chatzis came out of the goal and Ger Fens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dimitrie Valk hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. If Bas Venema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teun Pepping fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthijs Jorna having to interfere. When Bas Venema came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the PSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bas Venema couldn't finish the play. Bas Venema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 86 minutes into the match, vv Hefswal's goal looked a bit too open when Bas Venema came free, but Matthijs Jorna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charis Chatzis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florian Roodenburg in the 88th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Daniel Douwes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charis Chatzis was relentless in the 95th minute of the game.
