He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rheebruggen S.V. reached it. Hendrik-Jan Blikman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roeland Stuijvenberg in the 13th minute of the match. If Jacob Huizinga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18thth minute of the game Jacob Ponk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rheebruggen S.V.'s Hendrik-Jan Blikman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Jasper Stigt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rheebruggen S.V.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Adeward the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Erik Dilling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rheebruggen S.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Dilling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ab Hilberts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 25 minutes into the match, Rheebruggen S.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ferdi Meertens came free, but Hendrik-Jan Blikman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hendrik-Jan Blikman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Pool in the 27th minute of the match. Erik Dilling blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ab Hilberts having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roeland Stuijvenberg in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hendrik-Jan Blikman saved Rheebruggen S.V. from getting behind. Ab Hilberts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacob Huizinga in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Rheebruggen S.V. getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Tommie Vaalman hit a great ball. Adeward's Melvin Dijkman got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Rheebruggen S.V.'s Jacob Saarloos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jacob Saarloos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rheebruggen S.V. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jacob Saarloos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rheebruggen S.V. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Adeward a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Melvin Dijkman, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rheebruggen S.V.'s Hendrik-Jan Blikman. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacob Huizinga made a kick off. Hendrik-Jan Blikman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Ponk in the 52nd minute of play. Hendrik-Jan Blikman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roeland Stuijvenberg in the 54th minute. Steve Pool could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Hendrik-Jan Blikman made a huge save. Steve Pool sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Adeward could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rheebruggen S.V. throughout the match.
