A very good chance. Edgar Degens received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Charis Chatzis came out and tried to block the shot, but Edgar Degens slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 39th minute. Mark de Zwaan in the 48thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Charis Chatzis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bas Venema was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Young Boys Enschede got a freekick which was hit by Stephan Teunissen. Olof Wesseling kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Edgar Degens took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Charis Chatzis. Charis Chatzis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Mark de Zwaan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charis Chatzis having to interfere. The supporters of Young Boys Enschede booed when PSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isac Dalström didn't get a good kick on the ball.
