Jacob Ponk started the match with the kick off. In the 5th match minute, vv Hefswal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Roodenburg to maneuver through the defense. Steve Pools short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Matthijs Jorna to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ger Fens's late challenge caught a Adeward's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ger Fens helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to vv Hefswal getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Ger Fens hit a great ball. The supporters of vv Hefswal booed when Adeward was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob Ponk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steve Pools short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Matthijs Jorna to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Daniel Douwes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adeward's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Melvin Dijkman in the 31st minute. A nice corner shot did that Melvin Dijkman got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Matthijs Jorna quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Steve Pools short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Matthijs Jorna to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Matthijs Jorna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Ponk, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After a rather tough play, vv Hefswal's Florian Roodenburg got a free kick in the 39th minute. Ab Hilberts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Klaas Smit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacob Ponk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthijs Jorna having to interfere. Ab Hilberts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Douwes in the 48th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Klaas Smit stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. vv Hefswal's Daniel Douwes got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute of the match Melvin Dijkman sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matthijs Jorna skillfully saved the ball. After 69 played minutes vv Hefswal got a freekick which was hit by Stefano van Putten. Matthijs Jorna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steve Pool's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. A collision led to vv Hefswal getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Stefano van Putten hit a great ball. In the 90th minute vv Hefswal were awarded a corner. Ger Fens went to the cornerflag to take it. vv Hefswal's Matthijs Jorna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Ponk in the 92nd minute of play. If Steve Pool had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. vv Hefswal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
