Spectators: 7987 (Terracing: 5991, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 159) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nico-Jan Mülder got the match started through his kick off. 13 minutes into the game, Young Boys Enschede's Mark de Zwaan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robin Van Peel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 16 played minutes Young Boys Enschede got a freekick which was hit by Olof Wesseling. After 20 played minutes FC Derks got a freekick which was hit by Henry Aalders. After having played for 21 minutes, Mark de Zwaan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Young Boys Enschede's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark de Zwaan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute Olof Wesseling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Van Peel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henry Aalders hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Mark de Zwaan scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robin Van Peel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Robin Van Peel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark de Zwaan, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 36thth minute of the game Olof Wesseling who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Derks's Robin Van Peel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mark de Zwaan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Van Peel having to interfere. Mark de Zwaan might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robin Van Peel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mark de Zwaan ran back to his position shaking his head. Edgar Degens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Robin Van Peel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mark de Zwaan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Young Boys Enschede's Edgar Degens got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robin Van Peel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olof Wesseling in the 58th minute. Mark de Zwaan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Robin Van Peel firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 61st minute Young Boys Enschede were awarded a corner. Harmen Scheffer went to the cornerflag to take it. Edgar Degens took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robin Van Peel. Robin Van Peel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 66th minute, Young Boys Enschede's Edgar Degens dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. When Mark de Zwaan came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Young Boys Enschede fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark de Zwaan couldn't finish the play. FC Derks's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Edgar Degens 71 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. In the 73rd minute, Edgar Degens fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Robin Van Peel, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to Young Boys Enschede getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Robin Mos hit a great ball. Edgar Degens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes FC Derks got a freekick which was hit by Gertjan Baatenburg. After having played for 91 minutes, Mark de Zwaan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Young Boys Enschede's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark de Zwaan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Derks's Gertjan Baatenburg got a free kick in the 94th minute. Mark de Zwaan scored 0-7 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robin Van Peel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match was over Young Boys Enschede could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Derks throughout the match.
