Valkenberg's Christijan Hagenouw got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, v.v. Surhuisterveen's goalkeeper Teo Ensing had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christijan Hagenouw. Henk Jochemsen hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute, Urbes Palencia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Urbes Palencia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Teo Ensing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valkenberg's Christijan Hagenouw managed to work through v.v. Surhuisterveen's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Christijan Hagenouw dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Teo Ensing made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christijan Hagenouw in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Kauffeld in the 24th minute of play forced Valkenberg's goalkeeper Eddy Steyns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Valkenberg getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Gert Siepel hit a great ball. Teo Ensing made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Christijan Hagenouw sent off a good shot on target. Teo Ensing was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Christijan Hagenouw showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 29 minute of play. Christijan Hagenouw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Ensing having to interfere. Christijan Hagenouw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcel Kauffeld was the one to do the kick off. Christijan Hagenouw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Teo Ensing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gert Siepel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teo Ensing. v.v. Surhuisterveen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Teo Ensing stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christijan Hagenouw's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Christijan Hagenouw ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Teo Ensing was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christijan Hagenouw in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teo Ensing prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teo Ensing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christijan Hagenouw, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 70 played minutes v.v. Surhuisterveen got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Wessel. 72 minutes into the match, v.v. Surhuisterveen's goal looked a bit too open when Christijan Hagenouw came free, but Teo Ensing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christijan Hagenouw fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Ensing having to interfere. When Valkenberg's Urbes Palencia in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye v.v. Surhuisterveen's goalie prevented a goal. Teo Ensing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbes Palencia in the 86th minute of the match. In the 87thth minute of the game Christijan Hagenouw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but v.v. Surhuisterveen's Teo Ensing was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valkenberg's Christijan Hagenouw got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eddy Steyns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Kauffeld in the 96th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Valkenberg were the better team. Valkenberg's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
