Jan Prinsen was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 59 minutes into the match. Ferdi Keller charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ferdi Keller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th minute Andrej Moštenan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ab Hilberts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Empe Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdi Meertens came free, but Haroldo Poncio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroldo Poncio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Pool, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Empe Excelsior's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
