Spectators: 8087 (Terracing: 6084, Seating: 1865, VIP seats: 138) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mark de Zwaan started the match with the kick off. Edgar Degens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hendrik-Jan Blikman having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Olof Wesseling dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hendrik-Jan Blikman, 1-0. Hendrik-Jan Blikman was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Edgar Degens capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edgar Degens really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Sjors Jeronimus kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Harmen Scheffer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rheebruggen S.V.'s Hendrik-Jan Blikman didn't even have to move. When Edgar Degens fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Young Boys Enschede's protests and gave Edgar Degens a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Erik Dilling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rheebruggen S.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Dilling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacco Heesen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Rheebruggen S.V.'s zone, Edgar Degens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hendrik-Jan Blikman came out of the goal and Edgar Degens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 33rd minute, but Hendrik-Jan Blikman got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Rheebruggen S.V. hanging dry this time. Jacob Huizinga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jacco Heesen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A nice corner shot did that Harmen Scheffer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hendrik-Jan Blikman quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mark de Zwaan might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hendrik-Jan Blikman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mark de Zwaan ran back to his position shaking his head. Hendrik-Jan Blikman was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edgar Degens showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 46 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

Hendrik-Jan Blikman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Degens in the 62nd minute of the match. Hendrik-Jan Blikman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olof Wesseling in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rheebruggen S.V.'s goalkeeper Hendrik-Jan Blikman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 67 minutes into the game, Young Boys Enschede's Mark de Zwaan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hendrik-Jan Blikman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Mark de Zwaan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hendrik-Jan Blikman having to interfere. After 82 played minutes Young Boys Enschede got a freekick which was hit by Jacco Lanting. Olof Wesseling scored 7-0 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hendrik-Jan Blikman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Dilling in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacco Heesen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Young Boys Enschede's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
