Olympia 04's Herman Wansink was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 7th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a rather tough play, Olympia 04's Michel Schirring got a free kick in the 10th minute. After 12 minutes, Hans-Cees Hoffhuis made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Olympia 04's Filip Hellemons tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 21 minutes, Andreas Theissen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Geldermalsen and the Olympia 04 players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Geldermalsen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andreas Theissen to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Herman Wansink managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympia 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Herman Wansink was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nick de Groot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michel Schirring fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nick de Groot having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, Geldermalsen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Rein Jongsma to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bart Kaspers in the 27th minute of play forced Olympia 04's goalkeeper Filip Hellemons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Geldermalsen's Bart Kaspers got a free kick in the 29th minute. Nick de Groot was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Christijan de Coninck. Herman Wansink let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 31st minute shot 2-1 at rihgt post. 40 minutes into the game, Bart Kaspers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Filip Hellemons was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herman Wansink made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Diderik Booy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Hellemons saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Geldermalsen's goal looked a bit too open when Herman Wansink came free, but Nick de Groot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th match minute, Geldermalsen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans-Cees Hoffhuis to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute Herman Wansink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nick de Groot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Herman Weken left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Olympia 04 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After some careless play in the Olympia 04 defense, Hans-Cees Hoffhuis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filip Hellemons. The Olympia 04 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filip Hellemons should have stopped the shot. Geldermalsen's Bart Kaspers got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filip Hellemons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diderik Booy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute Diderik Booy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Hellemons saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
