Spoorbuurt's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Ferry Roeles could shoot a difficult shot in the 7th minute, which Rıfat Yazar however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Hamdi Kocaker in the 8th minute of play forced Spoorbuurt's goalkeeper Rıfat Yazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute, Ferry Roeles made a precise shot to the right of Rıfat Yazar. Spoorbuurt's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Rıfat Yazar was a little too slow when Bastiaan Kluivert got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 3-0. A collision led to Spoorbuurt getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Andre Schophuis hit a great ball. Bastiaan Kluivert received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rıfat Yazar came out and tried to block the shot, but Bastiaan Kluivert slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 21st minute. A collision led to Spoorbuurt getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Max Valentijn hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Dries Bakhuis notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Spoorbuurt's Rıfat Yazar. Rıfat Yazar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36th minute, one of FC Groenhoven:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Groenhoven. FC Groenhoven's Edgar Oblemenco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jelte Sturkenboom in the 44th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet Hamdi Kocaker got free with Rıfat Yazar in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hannes Kjellkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hannes Kjellkvist in the 52nd minute of play forced FC Groenhoven's goalkeeper Edgar Oblemenco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rıfat Yazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bastiaan Kluivert in the 57th minute of play. Bastiaan Kluivert might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rıfat Yazar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bastiaan Kluivert ran back to his position shaking his head. Ahmet Hamdi Kocaker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rıfat Yazar having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Ahmet Hamdi Kocaker was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Groenhoven's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Spoorbuurt the free kick. In the 69th match minute, FC Groenhoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet Hamdi Kocaker to maneuver through the defense. Rıfat Yazar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ahmet Hamdi Kocaker went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. In the 86th minute Ahmet Hamdi Kocaker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rıfat Yazar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that FC Groenhoven were the better team. FC Groenhoven's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
