The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bolo Bolobanov was the one to do the kick off. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bolo Bolobanov's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
