Vedette United's Jan Hendrik Wessels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Vedette United from getting a goal against them. Michel Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karel Keupink in the 11th minute of play. After 15 played minutes Zonnetje in huis got a freekick which was hit by Elias Loyola. After 18 minutes, Daan Kimmel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zonnetje in huis and the Vedette United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Zonnetje in huis's Daan Kimmel got a free kick in the 19th minute. With a little luck, Vedette United's Jan Hendrik Wessels got control of the ball when Rudolf Seedorf tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rudolf Seedorf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Sigfred Fromsejer in the 28th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Vedette United's Jan Hendrik Wessels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Loyola in the 30th minute of play. In the 34thth minute of the game Rudolf Seedorf who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vedette United's Jan Hendrik Wessels was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Zonnetje in huis booed when Vedette United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Meindert Lyesen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elias Loyola in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan Hendrik Wessels prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marc Douwes hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Jan Hendrik Wessels didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elias Loyola went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Rudolf Seedorf struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Jan Hendrik Wessels didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zonnetje in huis. In the 69th match minute, Vedette United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emile Lammens to maneuver through the defense. Jan Hendrik Wessels came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Zonnetje in huis's Elias Loyola. But to his dismay, Elias Loyola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 81 minutes into the game, Tonny Gierman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zonnetje in huis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vedette United the free kick. The supporters of Vedette United booed when Zonnetje in huis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tonny Gierman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Loyola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Hendrik Wessels read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Gerard de Vos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Michel Courtois tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, Vedette United's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfred Fromsejer came free, but Jan Hendrik Wessels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zonnetje in huis's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
