Spectators: 6980 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1440, VIP seats: 40) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dave Vliet got the match started through his kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Vedette United's Karel Keupink sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgard Gasteren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Tonnie Vliet managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cliffeinde's supporters rose to their feet, but Tonnie Vliet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Hendrik Wessels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Vedette United defense, Domenik Terpstra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan Hendrik Wessels. The Vedette United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan Hendrik Wessels should have stopped the shot. 13 minutes into the match, Vedette United's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Vliet came free, but Jan Hendrik Wessels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 16 played minutes Vedette United got a freekick which was hit by Gerard de Vos. Tonnie Vliet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lukas Boon kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After having played for 19 minutes, Arnout Meijs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Cliffeinde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnout Meijs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dave Vliet scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan Hendrik Wessels, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jan Hendrik Wessels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dave Vliet's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Tonnie Vliet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Cliffeinde's Youri Spijkerman got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vedette United's Jan Hendrik Wessels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domenik Terpstra in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Vliet in the 39th minute of play forced Vedette United's goalkeeper Jan Hendrik Wessels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Dave Vliet managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cliffeinde's supporters rose to their feet, but Dave Vliet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerard de Vos's late challenge caught a SC Cliffeinde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerard de Vos helped the player get up and apologised. Gerard de Vos hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half SC Cliffeinde were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gerard de Vos made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 58 minutes, Dave Vliet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Cliffeinde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dave Vliet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute of the game Emile Lammens made a throw-in which Karel Keupink played forward. Nigel Jansen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jan Hendrik Wessels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jordy Bartele charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jordy Bartele the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Vedette United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jordy Bartele to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Vedette United's goalkeeper Jan Hendrik Wessels had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dave Vliet. 78 minutes into the game, Dave Vliet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jan Hendrik Wessels was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 83 minutes, Emile Lammens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vedette United and the SC Cliffeinde players grew even worse after the yellow card. Youri Spijkerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Jan Hendrik Wessels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cliffeinde's zone, Gerard de Vos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgard Gasteren came out of the goal and Gerard de Vos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Cliffeinde's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
