Ate Beerthuis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Piara Batistuta went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Piara Batistuta's late challenge caught a Ankrum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Piara Batistuta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Piara Batistuta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Piara Batistuta scored 0-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ate Beerthuis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ate Beerthuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piara Batistuta in the 39th minute of play. Hernani Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart de Visscher in the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lennart de Visscher stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Ankrum's goal looked a bit too open when Piara Batistuta came free, but Ate Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Piara Batistuta kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ate Beerthuis. That made the score 0-3 in the 60 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Piara Batistuta got free with Ate Beerthuis in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Piara Batistutas short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Ate Beerthuis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ate Beerthuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 肖建云 in the 66th minute of the match. The Bergeikers fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Bergeikers's Piara Batistuta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 73 played minutes Ankrum got a freekick which was hit by Felix Bos. Ate Beerthuis acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 74th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Joost Telkamp. The supporters of Ankrum booed when Bergeikers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otto Klasen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ate Beerthuis made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Piara Batistuta sent off a good shot on target. Maurice Holsmuller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 85th minute, Lennart de Visscher got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Piara Batistuta came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Bergeikers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Piara Batistuta couldn't finish the play. When Eelco Ricksen fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bergeikers's protests and gave Eelco Ricksen a yellow card for diving instead. Eelco Ricksen hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. If Piara Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Bergeikers getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Joost Telkamp hit a great ball. Hernani Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurice Holsmuller, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. In the 96th minute, Maurice Holsmuller made a precise shot to the right of Hernani Messias. Bergeikers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4.
