The audience was convinced that Francesco Cramer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard Gasteren was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 10th match minute, SC Cliffeinde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Youri Spijkerman to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute Francesco Cramer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Gasteren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard Gasteren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Cramer, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Laurens Appel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zandspui fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Edgard Gasteren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dimosthenis Giannoulakis's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Edgard Gasteren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesco Cramer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgard Gasteren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurens Appel in the 27th minute of play. Dave Vliet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 minutes of play, Zandspui's Dimosthenis Giannoulakis made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgard Gasteren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Francesco Cramer scored 1-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgard Gasteren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimosthenis Giannoulakis in the 44th minute of play forced SC Cliffeinde's goalkeeper Edgard Gasteren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nathan Veldman was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dave Vliet showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 48 minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dave Vliet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Francesco Cramer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laurens Appel got free with Edgard Gasteren in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gert Jan Houtman hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Theo Zondervan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laurens Appel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Edgard Gasteren made a huge save. After 67th play minutes Francesco Cramer shot 2-4, a short shot which went by Edgard Gasteren and just under the crossbar into goal. Dave Vliet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nathan Veldman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francesco Cramer in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgard Gasteren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Zandspui's Edgard Gasteren threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dimosthenis Giannoulakis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. SC Cliffeinde's Edgard Gasteren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save SC Cliffeinde from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the SC Cliffeinde defense, Francesco Cramer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard Gasteren. The SC Cliffeinde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard Gasteren should have stopped the shot. Dimosthenis Giannoulakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Gasteren having to interfere. In the 91st minute Francesco Cramer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Gasteren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Francesco Cramer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Gasteren. SC Cliffeinde's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francesco Cramer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. Zandspui's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
