The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ankrum's Ate Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Ankrum from getting a goal against them. 7 minutes into the match, Ankrum's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Millrick came free, but Ate Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otto Klasen kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Piara Batistuta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ate Beerthuis came out and tried to block the shot, but Piara Batistuta slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 14th minute. A collision led to Bergeikers getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Joost Telkamp hit a great ball. Timmie van den Berg kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Ankrum's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Piara Batistuta scored to the left of an out of position Ate Beerthuis, making the score, 3-0. The Bergeikers fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Bergeikers's Piara Batistuta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Otto Klasen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ate Beerthuis having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Marco Millrick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ate Beerthuis. Ankrum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Millrick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Ankrum's Ate Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ankrum from getting a goal against them. In the 33rdth minute of the game Piara Batistuta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ankrum's Ate Beerthuis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Piara Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ate Beerthuis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Piara Batistuta in the 35th minute. Piara Batistuta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ate Beerthuis having to make a save. 40 minutes into the match, Ankrum's goalkeeper Ate Beerthuis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Piara Batistuta. Piara Batistuta hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the match, Piara Batistuta dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ate Beerthuis, 6-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Ankrum's goal looked a bit too open when Piara Batistuta came free, but Ate Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Piara Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Piara Batistuta sped through Ankrum's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ate Beerthuis. If Piara Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ate Beerthuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piara Batistuta in the 73rd minute of the match. After having played for 76 minutes, Otto Klasen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bergeikers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otto Klasen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Otto Klasen scored 9-0 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ate Beerthuis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Ankrum's zone, Piara Batistuta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ate Beerthuis came out of the goal and Piara Batistuta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Bergeikers had played much better football throughout.
