Spectators: 7898 (Terracing: 6007, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Piara Batistuta got the match started through his kick off. With a little luck, Zandspui's Nathan Veldman got control of the ball when Piara Batistuta tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Cramer in the 8th minute of play forced Bergeikers's goalkeeper Kelvin Stekelenburg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Dimosthenis Giannoulakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kelvin Stekelenburg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dimosthenis Giannoulakis kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Bergeikers's Piara Batistuta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nathan Veldman. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Millrick in the 17th minute of play forced Zandspui's goalkeeper Nathan Veldman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert Ter scored 1-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kelvin Stekelenburg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Piara Batistuta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nathan Veldman was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 33rd minute, Bergeikers's Piara Batistuta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The supporters of Bergeikers booed when Zandspui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert Ter didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Zandspui's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Millrick came free, but Nathan Veldman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nathan Veldman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joost Telkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Piara Batistuta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nathan Veldman was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. 44 minutes into the match, Bergeikers's goal looked a bit too open when Dimosthenis Giannoulakis came free, but Kelvin Stekelenburg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Zandspui's zone, Piara Batistuta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathan Veldman came out of the goal and Piara Batistuta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francesco Cramer made a kick off. In the 51st minute Piara Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan Veldman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nathan Veldman came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Bergeikers's Piara Batistuta. But to his dismay, Piara Batistuta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Piara Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 57th minute Piara Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan Veldman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dimosthenis Giannoulakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Kelvin Stekelenburg made a huge save. Francesco Cramer took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kelvin Stekelenburg. Kelvin Stekelenburg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Nathan Veldman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piara Batistuta in the 64th minute of play. Piara Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Nathan Veldman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenneth Valentijn kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Bergeikers's Marco Millrick made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nathan Veldman was left in no man's land by his defense there! 77 minutes into the game, Bergeikers's Marco Millrick nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nathan Veldman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. After 81 minutes, Piara Batistuta made it 6-2 with a short kick to the right side. Zandspui's Nathan Veldman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Piara Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Piara Batistuta came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Bergeikers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Piara Batistuta couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute Piara Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan Veldman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Piara Batistuta in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nathan Veldman saved Zandspui from getting behind. Otto Klasen struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Nathan Veldman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bergeikers. Bergeikers were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Zandspui for a fine match.
