The audience was convinced that Mark Boezem's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luc Cales was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Luc Cales didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BelaVista FC. Evert Holsmuller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niek Ter, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Edgard Höhenstein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Luc Cales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Heiko Penders came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the BelaVista FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heiko Penders couldn't finish the play. Gerrit Hoving blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evert Holsmuller having to make a save. In the 78th minute of the match Auke Sandbergen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luc Cales showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Jelle Lambers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luc Cales. That made the score 0-1 in the 80 minute of play. Gerrit Hoving might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evert Holsmuller. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerrit Hoving ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 85th minute of the game. One of BelaVista FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Watergang HC:s goal. Niek Ter placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After some careless play in the BelaVista FC defense, Niek Ter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Evert Holsmuller. The BelaVista FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Evert Holsmuller should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Watergang HC booed when BelaVista FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heiko Penders didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind BelaVista FC's goalkeeper Evert Holsmuller, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
