In the 7th minute, fc groningwn's Reinier Zwartkruis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kurt Harmsen. Kurt Harmsen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Hendrik van Loo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Kurt Harmsen made a huge save. When Geert Arend Molhoek came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the fc groningwn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geert Arend Molhoek couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, fc groningwn's Reinier Zwartkruis got a free kick in the 19th minute. Jan-Willem Rijkaard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frans Nijemanting, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Demy Brunt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Jan-Willem Rijkaard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kurt Harmsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hette Seedorf in the 28th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Hette Seedorf kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kurt Harmsen. That made the score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. Kurt Harmsen was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Hette Seedorf capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hette Seedorf really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. When Demy Brunt came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Brunsting fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Demy Brunt couldn't finish the play. Dimitrie Eefting hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hette Seedorf was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Brunsting got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Vieira. Kurt Harmsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geert Arend Molhoek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 58 played minutes Brunsting got a freekick which was hit by Dimitrie Eefting. Kurt Harmsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hendrik van Loo in the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Brunsting's Frans Nijemanting got a free kick in the 61st minute. If Hette Seedorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. fc groningwn's Hendrik van Loo got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hette Seedorf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frans Nijemanting hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Brunsting's Kurt Harmsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hette Seedorf in the 79th minute of play. Hendrik van Loo's late challenge caught a Brunsting's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hendrik van Loo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Brunsting booed when fc groningwn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hendrik van Loo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kurt Harmsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geert Arend Molhoek, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. fc groningwn's Jan-Willem Rijkaard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save fc groningwn from getting a goal against them. Demy Brunt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kurt Harmsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hette Seedorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, fc groningwn's Reinier Zwartkruis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Kurt Harmsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hette Seedorf in the 96th minute of play. fc groningwn walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
