The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dave Huisman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Floris Onrust managed to get in a good position for a shot. Transwijk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Floris Onrust was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Coenraad Wilmink breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilbert Dongen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Coenraad Wilmink having to interfere. A collision led to New Gooxtonian Boys getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Hans Fokkelman hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Transwijk FC's Edgar Verheije got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in New Gooxtonian Boys's zone, Matthijs Wagemakers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Coenraad Wilmink came out of the goal and Matthijs Wagemakers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dave Huisman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans Fokkelman went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 30 minutes into the game, Gilbert Dongen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Coenraad Wilmink was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 33 minutes, Matthijs Wagemakers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Transwijk FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matthijs Wagemakers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Floris Onrust struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Coenraad Wilmink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Transwijk FC. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Maurice Wikenburg made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kees Eising in the 52nd minute of play forced Transwijk FC's goalkeeper Dave Huisman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
