The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sebastian Cristofol showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Hans-Cees Struik came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans-Cees Struik couldn't finish the play. Edward Klaassen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Hanekamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NBSVV's Sebastian Cristofol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save NBSVV from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's Marco Langenbach slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastian Cristofol. That made the score 1-0 after 42 minutes of play. In the 46th minute, Tom Sibon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sebastian Cristofol. The goal made the score 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernard Arts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Hans Niekamp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NBSVV's Sebastian Cristofol was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
